Faculty who teach non-medical undergraduate and graduate students may begin to create their courses in Canvas for the Spring 2023 semester on or after Dec. 1, 2022. Please see below for instructions on how to get started.

Starting Dec. 1, instructors can start creating Spring 2023 course shells in Canvas, by logging into the Rowan Online Portal, clicking My Courses in the top navigation menu, selecting a term such as Spring 2023, and following the instructions to create a course shell for each of your eligible courses.

• You will be given the option to copy existing course content into your shell for each of your Spring 2023 courses. Please note that an option to copy the course content from the previous term is only available at the time you are creating your shell for the term. You cannot select to do this later. Please prep your existing course materials prior to electing your course shell as a copy.

Crosslist Course Sections
Cross-listing is a self-elective system also available in the Rowan Online portal that allows faculty to combine course sections into a single Canvas shell. 
A cross-list combination can be made prior to making an individual course shell. In this process users will still have the option to copy a blank shell or copy of a previous course into the cross-list combination.
