It's that time of year again!  The Office of Volunteerism, Community Engagement & Commuter Services is once again sponsoring our Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving Food basket program.  This season, VCECS and the Rowan community will be sponsoring 100 families throughout South Jersey.  The VCECS staff will make certain that donations and efforts will go towards families through four community partner agencies:  The Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester County, New Jersey's Division of Child Protection & Permanency, Volunteers of America Family Shelters and The S.H.O.P.-Students Helping other Profs.

All members of the Rowan community are encouraged to participate - students, faculty, staff, offices, departments, teams, clubs and organizations, etc.

We are adopting small, medium and large size families.  The choice is yours.

If you are interested in sponsoring a family basket, you must register with the VCECS Office at volunteer@rowan.edu, to receive a corresponding family ID number.  A shopping list along with the required contents of a family basket can be found on the VCECS Proflink page.  If you cannot locate the page, please email us at:  volunteer@rowan.edu.

If you cannot adopt a whole family, we will happily accept all non-perishable food items and gift cards.

To keep socially distant, there will be curb side pick up in front of the Chamberlain Student Center starting Tuesday November 17th from 12 noon to 6 pm, Wednesday, November 18th and Thursday, November 19th from 8 am to 6 pm and Friday, November November 20th from 8 am to 3 pm.   The VCECS is providing boxes. and will pack your food donations.

Let's remember that there are many not as fortunate as we are.  Celebrating the holidays, or being grateful for all that we have, can be more meaningful when we do our best to pay it forward.
