Effective September 3, 2020, the Office of Research Compliance (ORC) in the Division of Research will be transitioning the current IRB software to a new IRB Management software called “CAYUSE IRB”.   The ORC envisions that that this transition will bring additional transparency into all phases in the life cycle of an IRB submission and review process.  The new software will allow researchers to enjoy increased efficiency with 100% electronic preparation, submission, and routing of human research study protocols. Furthermore, the new software will meet all of the expectations of the revised Common Rule. 

Transitioning to new software is a significant undertaking requiring cooperation from all of the IRB stakeholders.  The ORC and IRT are working together with the vendor towards seamless migration of existing approved protocols to the new software.  NJDOH and other external users may require new registration.  ORC will provide the step-by-step directions to registration and submissions processes as soon as they are available.

The ORC in collaboration with Rowan IRT is in the process of developing on line training videos; modify the IRB website with new information and training materials at all levels of use.  Due to Covid 2019 pandemic, the ORC anticipates to start multiple web-based trainings about the middle of August.  The ORC will send frequent emails and Rowan Daily announcements and website updates during this transition. During the transition, IRB staff will be available to assist researchers as necessary.
