The University Senate Awards Committee is pleased to announce it is now accepting nominations for three of the most prestigious honors presented to graduating seniors each academic year:
-- The Robert D. Bole Humanitarian Award
-- The James M. Lynch, Jr. Courage in Adversity Award
-- The Thomas E. Robinson Leadership Award
The Humanitarian Award – named for Dr. Bole, who served as a faculty member and Dean in the Department of Educational Leadership from 1952 to 1979 – is presented to an individual who exhibits compassion and concern for the well-being of others. The Courage in Adversity Award – named for Dr. Lynch, former Dean of Students and a 22-year-member of the Department of Educational Leadership faculty – celebrates a student who has overcome extreme hardship to achieve educational success. The Leadership Award – named for Dr. Robinson, who was the university’s longest-tenured President, having served from 1952 to 1968 – is presented to a graduating senior who has provided outstanding leadership to the student body and Rowan community.
